The Pan American Health Organization’s Procurement and Supply Management Team has won the World Procurement Award for Digital Impact for its deployment of technology, which was a huge help in response to COVID-19 across the Americas!
The award was given in recognition of PAHO’s achievements in procurement, including its use of innovative practices and its commitment to sustainability. PAHO has also been praised for its ability to manage complex procurements and its focus on value for money.
The Pan-American Health Organization just used cutting-edge robotic process automation technologies to help out with the world’s response to Covid!
The procurement department deployed in two bots named Max and Mia to help speed up the shipping process! These fantastic little machines dramatically slashed the amount of time it took to get supplies where they were needed most! This helped the team focus on more important things and be better organized!
OMG, PAHO’s Procurement Director, Daniel Rodriguez, said “This recognition inspires us to continue to provide innovative and efficient support to the Member States.”
He added, “It recognizes the organization’s ability to see challenges as opportunities and its power of collaboration to achieve great things when it listens to countries and empowers them.”
PAHO has been a vital player in response to the COVID-19 pandemic! It used its Revolving Fund to deliver more than 140 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines and 22 million rapid tests.
